Clinical Education Programs

The Omaha AHEC supports & provides community placement, service learning opportunities, and clinical experience for medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy and allied health students. This provides students with the opportunity to experience health care outside the classroom setting. Students learn firsthand about economic and cultural barriers to care and become aware of the specific needs of underserved and ethnically diverse populations.

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."

-Mahatma Gandhi

Service Learning

With the intent of supporting clinical education, the Omaha AHEC has provided service-learning opportunities for medical, nursing, and public health students. If you are a student in need of contact hours or community project with a community organization or if you are an administrator, faculty member, or service learning coordinator, the Omaha AHEC can help.
