BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) FALL 2018 SCHEDULE

HEALTH PROVIDERS, COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS AND HEALTH PROFESSIONS STUDENTS!
Omaha AHEC has 4 convenience skills only training dates available this fall for BASIC LIFE SUPPORT FOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS (BLS). Complete the instructional portion of the training from the comfort of your home and register to complete the skills test with us over the lunch hour!

The Skills review and in-person skills test are intended to include an interprofessional/team-based component.  CEU's are available from the American Heart Association for the online portion of the training. 

YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE COURSE PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE SKILLS TEST & YOU MUST BRING YOUR ONLINE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION WITH YOU IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SKILLS TESTING.  WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU REGISTER FOR YOUR ONLINE COURSE AT LEAST 4 WORKING DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF THE SKILLS TEST TO ALLOW FOR DELIVERY OF YOUR ONLINE KEY AND COURSE COMPLETION! Nebraska Workforce Analysis

The AHEC-supported Status of Healthcare Workforce in the State of Nebraska report utilizes recent data to provide an updated analysis of Nebraska’s health professionals, and identify counties within Nebraska that are experiencing shortages of these professionals.

To ensure current data is available to inform workforce-related initiatives, program planning, and policy development, AHEC is committed to supporting regular and systematic reporting on the distribution of Nebraska’s healthcare workforce.

HCI Parent Night Health Careers Institute

ATTENTION HCI PARENTS FAMILIES & FRIENDS SAVE THE DATE!!

You are invited to attend the 2018 Health Careers Institute Parent & Family Night and Graduating Student Cord Ceremony!

We will be celebrating our students' success with a year in reveiw, student presentations, HCI alumni presentation and award/acknowledgement ceremony.  

We will be honoring our program graduates with their Honor Cords to proudly wear for their Northwest Gradtiation Ceremony.  Also students who have invested themselves in the Health Careers Institute and qualify and applied for the HCI Certified Nurse Aide Scholarship will present their essays and be awarded with an Omaha AHEC CNA scholarship to be used towards their C.N.A. course this summer. We will also highlight our summer programs and any upcoming volunteer opportunities for parents and students. (TBA) Community guest speaker will send everyone off with a motivated spirit.

Nebraska AHEC Career Book CHALLENGE OF A LIFETIME 2018!

We are dedicated to providing our community with high quality life saving BLS, CPR and First Aid training for individuals, organizations and employees of daycare centers as well as to employees in long-term care and corporate settings! Yes, our dedicated training staff can come to you!  Check our training calendar for updates on upcoming classes being hosted in our classroom. NOW OFFERING ONLINE COURSES WITH IN PERSON SKILLS TESTING!

(please note we have scheduled some of our Babysitter Trainings on weekdays that students are scheduled to be out of school according to the Omaha Public /Bellevue Public School Calendars.  If your student is not out of school on that date, please look for a training that is targeted for your students grade level).

Health Careers Institute at Northwest High School

The Health Careers Institute is now registering! HCI is a comprehensive, multi-year program that will expose, educate and prepare dedicated students for a career in the health care field. As an active participant in this program, each HCI graduate will be fully prepared for admission into college and a career in health care.
